Holy shit!!! This week there's a TNSR that DOESN'T end downtown! Not only that, but it sounds like we're gonna have a WATER BALLOON FIGHT at some point in the cruise. Guess who just got pumped for a ride... ME! Read on for all the gory deets:
Hey Everybody! It's pretty damn hot outside, but don't let that keep you inside, being lame and watching TV. Join us this week on the Thursday Night Social Ride instead. We'll be riding bikes, hanging out at parks and this week we are going to stay cool with a MASSIVE water balloon fight along the way. Keep on reading for the details.
WHERE AND WHEN: Fiesta Gardens, right east of the 1-35 Bridge over the river (town lake, lady bird lake... whatever you call it.) We meet at 7:30, hang out for a bit then take off at 8PM-ish.
WHAT: A bike ride, a water balloon fight with a massive amount of ice cold water balloons and an after-party at Nomads.
Feel free to bring extra balloons. WATER GUNS are not only allowed, but highly encouraged. Come packing heat.
After we are nice and cool and wet, we will ride up to Nomads (http://tinyurl.com/259jm9g), where they are throwing an after ride party complete with some complementary ice cold kegs and music on the patio.
HOW: Social Cycling Austin rides AS traffic, not AGAINST it. We stop at red lights, let cars pass and stay to the right as best we can. Listen to your ride leaders, they are some mighty nice people and have your safety in mind. Also, be nice to your fellow TNSR riders as well as all of the other traffic on the road.
WHAT YOU NEED: LIGHTS (FRONT AND BACK), a lock, a valid ID if you plan on attending the after party, as well as TIP MONEY for your bartenders that are pouring your beer. A helmet it always a good idea, but I will leave that up to you. You are responsible for your own safety on the TNSR.

Keith's not joking folks. Bring them dollas, and TIP YOUR FREAKING BARTENDERS! A ride with hundreds of good folks, water balloon carnage, free beer, the LEAST you can do is show the people serving you some love. Like the message says, show up at 7:30pm under the I-35 overpass to meet the crew, and be sure to bring your own armament as far as the water weapons go. I have a feeling this is gonna get rowdy.
Three weeks in a row now, I've heard stories about cops targeting cyclists leaving the bar after TNSR. So be alert y'all.
